Built between 1939 and 1944,
this structure was used for the storage of aircraft dope which was
plasticized
lacquer applied to aircraft fabric. The Dope Storage building was sited
near
the Assembly & Repair building for easy access, yet, separate for
fire
safety purposes. Applying dope to aircraft was part of the assembly
process.
The building is vacant.
