Yes,
I think it'd be fine for you to use the images of Sand Point that are
in the book on the Sand Point Web site. Particularly the National
Archives ones. Shot by Navy photographers, I'd call them public
domain!
I
think its fine to have the captions up there. In actuality, it’s
the publisher that owns the “pages.” I was working for
them. I’d guess, that they wouldn’t mind. It’s advertising
for them similar to Google books—a preview. However, I’m no
lawyer!
